The government banned 59 Chinese mobile applications, including top social media platforms such as TikTok, Helo, and WeChat, to counter the threat posed by these applications to the country's “sovereignty and security,” it said in a press release late on Monday. This decision comes when the nationwide protest to boycott Chinese products.

Chingari is another app developed by Indian entrepreneurs and the makers of Chinagri claim that they will pay according to content and how much the video gets viral and will be more rewarding than the Chinese app TikTok.
According to the platform, the short video-sharing app reached the milestone from 550,000 downloads in 10 days. Earlier, it had garnered about 500,000 downloads in about 72 hours.

ShareChat
ShareChat is an Indian regional social media platform developed by Mohalla Tech.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) said it has received many complaints from various sources, including several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for "stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India.
